DFW CHAPTER scholarship |
|
The Dallas / Ft. Worth Chapter of ASPE is focused on the interests of the local DFW chapter which includes Satellite Chapters such as Little Rock , Lubbock, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa. We are dedicated to the advancement of the plumbing/engineering profession and are offering the following scholarship(s) in support of our charter. We are currently offering two (2) $1000 scholarships to qualified applicants. The DFW ASPE Board of Directors (BOD) has the right to deny disbursement of scholarship funds if no applicants meet the requirements set forth in this application or may disburse additional awards to qualified applicants if funding is available. This decision is up to the presiding BOD. The applicants of the annual scholarship(s) will be reviewed by the DFW Education Chairman & his committee. After review the Education Chairman will make a recommendation for approval by the DFW ASPE Board of Directors the recipient(s) of the award(s). Applicants will be selected on a mixture of aspects, including academic performance, extra-curricular activities, future plans/goals, and relationship to a DFW ASPE member.
Award(s) will be disbursed in increments of $500 per semester to be paid twice annually. The funds will be disbursed within the 1st 30 days of the recipients 1st college semester and within 45 days of receipt of current transcript. Recipients must provide proof of enrollment and must submit transcripts after each semester completed in order to continue to receive the Award.
All Applicants Must:
Either be a member in good standing in the DFW Chapter of ASPE or be a member of the immediate family of an existing member in good standing of the DFW Chapter of ASPE.
Candidates must be either entering or already attending an accredited degree program that is focused on engineering or plumbing related field of study. It will be up to the DFW Education Chairman and the DFW BOD to make final determinations as to what programs are acceptable and additional consideration to candidates that are in programs that are directly associated to the Chapter’s objectives. Part time students are eligible for ½ the Full Award Amount.
Candidates must have a High School / College GPA of 3.0 or greater in order to receive this award. Existing recipients whose GPA falls below a 3.0 must show measurable improvement in order to continue to receive the award.
Recipients must reapply for this award on an annual basis.
No recipient will receive this award more than 5 years. |
