Topic: Understanding the Benefits of High Efficiency Gas Water Heaters: Tank and Tankless Commercial Implications

To optimize the design and performance of commercial water heater systems, it is beneficial to understand the difference between standard and high efficiency gas water heaters. This course will cover the benefits of high efficiency gas water heaters and how to easily convert from standard to high efficiency. Also included are methods for estimating hot water demands, best plumbing and venting principles, and discussion of advancing technology for water heaters.

Speaker:  Rodney Pugh

Rodney holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University, a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University Montgomery and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Rodney began his career with Rheem in 1999 as a research and development engineer where he led in the design of commercial electric and gas tank type water heaters. Rodney’s leadership in the design of Rheem’s Prestige series hybrid electric heat pump water heaters garnered awards for product, innovation, and design. Rodney’s passion for providing people with outstanding water heating solutions led him to take a new position with Rheem in 2017 as Commercial Sales Manager for the southeast and southwest regions. In this new position, he connects directly with the customer, listening to their needs, and uses his knowledge and experience to provide the appropriate water heating solution in each application.
